We have an ambitious target to recycle all our waste and send nothing to landfill, but current packaging technology and recycling facilities in our area mean that our current focus is on reducing waste and recycling as much as we can.
We are making good progress though, with regular collections of 'typical' recyclates (cardboard, paper, tin/aluminium cans), organic/compost waste, and nearby facilities to recycle glass, textiles, spent batteries and more. These municipal facilities are reflected in our recycling area within the Dutch Barn, and guest are encouraged to make good use of them.
We adopt the same practice on the rest of the farm, and the various renovations have generated a fair quantity of scrap metal which has been exchanged for firewood!
