Events & Activities

There is a multitude of walks to undertake in this area to suit the complete spectrum of ages, abilities and desires. From Munro-baggers to families with toddlers there is truly something to suit everyone.  From the door of your cottage you can enjoy local walks to the top of Duncryne Hill for one of the best views of Loch Lomond to the north, alternatively you can walk down to the Loch. For those who enjoy a morning jog or run there’s some neat routes locally without the need to jump in a car. In the cottages we provide maps and information and some guidebooks to help make choices.

For cyclists we are close to Sustrans route 7 as well as a number of other options. Off road tracks have developed in a number of forestry areas and there are some local routes we can advise upon. If you are bringing cycles we can provide undercover storage for when you’re not using them (bring your own locks) or we can suggest places where you can hire cycles if that is your preferred option.

Golf enthusiasts are well catered for in this area. Many local clubs welcome visitors and we can provide contact details for those should you wish to play a round or two whilst on holiday. There are some wonderful views to be had from many of the courses.

Aside from the plethora of outdoor and sporting activities we can heartily recommend trips to cultural and historical sites whilst holidaying in this area.  Tourist information is provided in each cottage for a huge variety of places to visit from castles at Stirling and Dumbarton, museums and galleries including the superb Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Riverside Museum (transport) in Glasgow and marvellous houses such as Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House in nearby Helensburgh. For those interested in the world of whisky our nearest distilleries are Glengoyne (the slowest distilled single malt) and Auchentoshan (triple distilled) and both offer a range of tours.
